Aretha Franklin unable to hold shows for health reasons

Aretha Franklin needs a bit of a break.

The legendary singer has canceled three shows due to “doctors’ orders,” she said in a statement on Monday.

“Due to doctors’ orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so,” Franklin, 74, told the Associated Press.

No specific reason was given, though last August, she canceled a Las Vages show because of exhaustion.

Franklin will no longer perform at a show that was set for Friday at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts near Vienna, Virginia, and will also miss two upcoming shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall – “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90” on Sept. 15 and a solo gig on Sept. 23.

The “Respect” singer said she should be back on the road in November.

Watch the video to relive Franklin’s stunning performance of “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors last December, which had President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Carole King, and Viola Davis adorably fangirling in the audience.
