Benin to spearhead garment manufacturing in West Africa

Benin and Burkina Faso, key cotton producers in West Africa, are transitioning to garment manufacturing to boost their economies.
Supported by organisations like CMiA, they aim to reduce reliance on raw cotton exports.
Benin, with an 8 per cent share of CMiA-certified sustainable cotton production, is attracting international brands like Zara and H&M.
