The Ebonyi State Government House, Abakaliki was shaken to its foundation yesterday as a visibly angry Governor David Umahi ordered one of his aides, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu local government Area, Offorbuike Onwe, to submit himself or be declared wanted.

The Governor also summoned the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area, Justice Ogbonna and embattled Coordinator of Ohaozara West Development Centre, Ogbonnaya Eneh who was implicated in the stripping of a 14-year old girl to appear before him.

He also summoned the council boss to appear before him and explain the gruesome murder of a man in the area, one Joe Abaa who was allegedly killed by  by vigilance group despite his proscription of local vigilance group across the state.

Meanwhile, human and vehicular movements were brought to  a halt for several hours at the Ogoja Road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital when the Special Adviser to Governor David Umahi on Talent Developemnt, Evangelist Nwakaego Nworie battled with a mentally deranged man for hours during a deliverance session along the major road.Passersby and commuters immediately converged at the scene to catch a glimpse of the action when the governor’s aide parked her car on sighting the man whom residents said had been mad for almost 15 years.
After shaving the mad man’s head which had long turned to dreadlock, the woman ordered the crowd that had gathered to keep singing praises to God while she requested for a bucket of water and soap with which she bathed the man whom she confirmed had regained his consciousness.

Offorbuike should report to me  and if after  seven days he fails to do so, I will get rid of him and declare him wanted because the security agents have been on me about him. He was declared wanted in Enugu and declared wanted in Ebonyi. So, we are using this opportunity to tell him to report to police or the SSG who will bring him to see me and I will now make him available to the police the way the Deputy Governor made Ogbonnaya Eneh available in the case of Uzoamaka.

‘’The security agents respected us so much by not going after our appointees or elected people without first getting clearance from us and I think it is enough respect and we have to also give them their own respect”
‘’The Chairman of the local government, Justice Ogbonna and the Coordinator of the Development centre, Ogbonnaya Eneh will have to answer to me. They must answer to me because I directed that there should be no vigilante for now. It was my directive and vigilante killed somebody, it is terrible.”

‘’Let me emphasize that we can’t sack people anyhow. These are people that were appointed or elected, so if they commit offence, we must allow the law to take its cause and then we can now react’’, he said.
He directed security agents to prosecute all those involved in the stripping and torture of a 15 year old girl in the state.
‘’I watched the video on this inhuman treatment of Uzoamaka and I felt so terribly bad about it.

It is very inhumane to have so acted but sometime you don’t follow the masses. People were expecting that we should sack the Coordinator of Ohaozara West Development Centre, no.  I directed the police to prosecute all those involved in the crime and I will act when the police must have finished their work. We must not do it the way the social media wants us to do it or very ungrateful elements would want us to do it”

Daily Sun gathered that a member of the local vigilance group operating in Ohaozara council area of the state allegedly seized a man identified as Joe Abba, tied his legs with bags of sand and put him inside the river.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, George Okafor said the command had declared the embattled and fleeing Coordinator of Ngbo Central wanted in connection to some crime and said they were still on his trail.
